Cancel everything other mass vaccinations. The success and failure of Africa is entirely dependent on whether the locals take it seriously. They don't. America can do nothing to change this basic fact.

With only mass vaccinations you would be leaving out equally and/or more effective programs like antimalarials/bednets, vitamin A supplementation to prevent blindness, & chlorination of drinking water.

If you’re basically saying “let’s fund everything that has the same or better cost effectiveness as vaccine programs for common & deadly diseases”, then that is rather agree-able, but may also result in more overall health funding!

The point isn't to improve the health of Africans. The point is to prevent the spread of infectious diseases that can land in your shores. The vaccination thing is about self interest and not about saving African lives.

Ah, so you should be all for fully funding the Sentinel disease monitoring system for early detection of threatening diseases

https://80000hours.org/podcast/episodes/pardis-sabeti-sentinel/

And all for funding things that decrease the cost & increase the availability of Far-UVC to stop the spread of airborne pathogens

And all for the advancement of TB vaccines & access.

And all for making vaccine-like long lasting HIV preventatives like Lenocapivir widely available.
