I feel sort of confused about what point is trying to be made here; it seems like there are a lot of criticisms being alluded to (cringey, aged poorly, insular), but not very many concrete ones being explicitly made, which makes this feel more like social posturing ("I don't want to be associated with these people because I no longer find them cool") than anything else.

For example, there's a discussion of a UBI post that seems meant to be dismissive or "obviously everyone will agree this is cringe", but it's unclear what the actual problem with it is.

The criticism here leans a bit hard on the observation “Yudkowsky’s current writing is cringey.” This is already so well known that some define a rationalist as “someone who disagrees with Eliezer Yudkowsky.” I’m not sure who else you’re criticizing exactly, but I’d agree in spirit that lots of low hanging fruit got picked. There are still plenty of good rat-adjacent writers but which to read depends on what your interests are. And all that aside, I enjoyed the folk history :)
